FIRST Badges Mentor Resource Page
Participants / Students partner with their team mentors to earn FIRST Badges. For Level 1 and Level 2 badges, team mentors will determine when a participant has earned a badge.
Level 3 and 4 badges will have a participant login link. Each participant/student will upload a completed portfolio for consideration of badge achievements. Mentors and participants will be notified after the portfolio submission has been reviewed. If successful, the participant will be awarded the badge through Credly. If more detail is necessary, the mentor and the participant will be notified via email.
Evaluating Level 1 and Level 2 badges – or “How do the participants earn the badges?”
FIRST Badges uses rubrics to determine whether a student has completed the task or requirement. A rubric is used to measure a performance, behavior, or quality. For each of the badges and levels, a rubric is defined and viewable by the mentors in the downloadable mentor resources.
